Over the Moon!

OK, yesterday I started wishing I was on the moon! They literally ripped up the entire road that goes along the side of our house (we're on the corner). They are doing work under the road for water problems (flooding from rain, ect) and are going to be ripping up about 10 feet off the edge of our yard, driveway and sidewalk. :( I'm bummed about this to say the least, but than the noise from the jackhammers yesterday was almost unbearable! They'll be outside my window for a few months, but at least it's a little quieter today. Anyhow, moving on!!!

I just LOVE this Over the Moon set from Queen Kat! SO cute! The images are a really nice size to be used on cards as well as scrapbooking. The rocket is so great and fabulous for boy cards. The Over the Moon sentiment is part of this set as well. I decided to make a quick, fun card using a kit from a card kit swap from months ago. The orange paper had an image stamped on the opposite side that I didn't want to use, so instead I just flipped it over and stamped the sentiment on it and cut out. I found a scrap of green that coordinated with the PP and stamped the Rocket image and cut out.
I also added a little crystal Stickles to the Rocket window, wings & flames, just enough so it's still "boyish". I hand cut the "moon" and ran it through the Cuttlebug.
With no coloring, this card came together super quick! And adorable to boot, I think!

Have a great day!

PTI April Blog Hop!!!

Time for the April PTI Blog Hop! Yay! So much fun to see what everyone comes up with when faced with the same challenge. Here's this months challenge:

April Blog Hop

Lauren has already built an amazing array of printable templates in our store. Almost a reference library of sorts. Thousands of you have downloaded these amazing resources and have expressed how much you love them! Now's your chance to show us what you can do with them! Your challenge is to create a project using one of the Timeless Templates, any one of your choice. If you haven't tried them yet, there are some available for free
HERE. Get really creative and put a new spin on one of the more basic designs. Use this as an opportunity to make a gift for someone special, just because. This would be the perfect opportunity to get out one of those new stamp sets that have yet to see ink! Have fun and play! We look forward to seeing your results!

I decided to use the purse template to make a Mother's Day package. Great to fill with a little gift or candy. I like to put a little different spin of my own on any template I use, so for this one I decided to use acetate for the main purse portion and added a cute scallop border to the front flap.

Thanks for stopping! Hope I provided some with inspiration! :) Can't wait to see what everyone else came up with!

Queen Kat Designs Blog Hop!!!

Hello! If you came to me from Maria, great! If not, start back at the QKD blog and start from there. Today's challenge was paper piecing. I LOVE to paper piece! It's a great easy way to add patterns and colors to designs and it's also great for people who don't like to color. (Not me, but I know some don't like to!) :) I used today's SCS sketch challenge for my card:

I used the new Just Chillin Teen (boys) line of paper from Making Memories and I love how it worked with that cute QKD guitar from the Make Me Happy stamp set! The circle of stars is also from QKD Over the Moon stamp set.
Thanks for stopping!

HIP HOP Thursday!

Today is another Unity HIP HOP Thursday & an adorable new release tree stamp - too cute! One of today's challenges was "Unity Anytime", to create a card/project for any occasion. I decided to make gift tags for my kids (as I was making them, I decided to use them on their Easter baskets). All of them use the same stamps "Love Ewe" and Shelby's tag also uses the distressed hearts background.
I used TH distress inks for the edges of tags. And those cute little squares on Shelby's are the new Pez-A-Blings of course! :)
Stop back tomarrow for more eye candy!

I also wanted to use these great new exclusive embellishments, Pez-A-Blings, they are so fun and come in tons of colors. For the "frosting" on top :) I wanted to use one of this months featured items, so I used the pink Liquid Pearls. Simple, cute and shiny...what could be better!? :)

PDD Friday! SCS Sketch Challenge

Today the Pez-A-Doodle girls have posts using a challenge from the week. This card was using this weeks SCS Wednesday sketch challenge. I used Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder to emboss the Pez-A-Doodle Cobblestone background stamp. The other half was run through my Cuttlebug and rubbed over with Distress Ink. For the cute little bundle of joy tag, I simply stamped the sentiment on cardstock, covered the back of a TH Fragment charm with Glossy Accents and stuck it over the sentiment. Than, after drying time, just cut around the outside of the charm and tied onto card. The giraffe is die cut using an exclusive QK die.
Thanks for stopping by, make sure to check out the rest of Pezzy's Playgroup - the whole DT is listed on the left side of my blog!

It's my first PDD Wednesday!

It's finally here! My first official PDD Wednesday! I just got my first box of goodies from Pez-A-Doodle, so i'll be playing with lots of new stuff for upcoming posts! Anyhow...for today I wanted to play with some great Tim Holtz products (lots of great TH/Ranger stuff at the Pez-A-Doodle store! I also used some Perfect Pearls in Pearl :) First my project for today:

It's hard to tell from the card pic how awesomely glimmery this is! Here's what it looks like in the light:

Is that great or what!? So here's what I did. First I took my panel of white cardstock and sponged on TH Distress Inks in rows of Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint & Broken China. Then using a mini mister, I put in a good scoop of Perfect Pearls and filled the rest with water. Just leave enough space so you can shake it up. After shaking, I generously sprayed over my entire inked panel. When you do this the paper will curl from being wet, but will lay flat as soon as it starts to soak in.
After allowing some drying time, I stamped the images (clear stamps from Tim Holtz) with Jet Black Archival Ink. I then ran a baby wipe along the edges to dampen them and distressed it just a little. Mount on black card and add washers & brads.
Lots to explain, but really quite an easy project and a big WOW factor with the glimmer from the Perfect Pearls!
Now, head on over to the other PDD design girls, they're all listed on the left of my blog. Lots of great stuff to see!
