June PTI Blog Hop!!!

It's time for the PTI June Blog Hop! This month we were challenged to take inspiration of summer colors from a photo. At first I right away thought of my purple iris that bloom along our house each summer that were better than ever this year! I did create a card based on that using the new Picnic Basket set, but than inspiration hit me again! While at the beach with the kids the other day, we all took a swim break for a snack and I watched 3 sun-kissed kids enjoying their Bomb Pops! I know- red, white & blue- not a very original color combo! But, it is very summer and I just went with it!

Of course, I didn't have my camera at the beach because of the horror of water or sand and a camera! So I took a photo from the web.

And here's what I came up with:

I used the new Card Couture template to make this as a little 4th of July gift for my Mom. I got her a cute little clear stamp set, red/white/blue star gems and some various 4th inspired ribbons. I'm going to tuck it all in the files inside to be her little 4th of July crafting kit!
I used the Vintage Picnic set as well as Let Freedom Ring, Spring Rain & Pure Poppy inks.

Thanks for hoppin' by!

PDD Wednesday!!!

I really wanted to play with Princess Cleo this week as well as do another project using Alcohol Inks, so I decided to use them together! I started by stamping Princess Cleo and coloring her with Copics and a gold galaxy marker. Than, I took a square of Ranger glossy cardstock and used two blue alcohol inks as well as the gold mixative and blending solution ( all found here ) to decorate my own paper to use on my card front to match my Princess! I love how you can use the metallic mixatives to play off a metallic in a stamped image.

Now make sure to head on over to the other Pezzy girls and see what they've been up to!

PDD Friday!

Hello! It's been another crazy week as school finally lets out for the year! Logan is finished with Elementary school and on to 7th grade at the Jr.High. I can't believe it! They had their 6th grade recognition the other day and he received 4 awards, including the Presidential award for excellence in education & a pin. He thought that was so cool that it was signed by Obama! :)
Moving on... I've had some projects not go my way this week, so I'm a little behind, but I will be posting more over the week to catch up. Today, I wanted to share this cute little hanging pocket I made for Shelby when she lost her last front tooth this week. I used Studio G fairy stamps for the fairy, stars and sentiment as well as pink pearl and stickles on the fairy's clothes from Pez-A-Doodle.

Thanks for stopping!
