Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop

This month's PTI blog hop challenge was to use the above photo as inspiration. Colors, patterns, textures...you name it!

I often use this color combo as well as lots of others using black & white with one color to pop so I had lots of ideas in my head for this one! I ended up designing several cards, but had to make a new one yesterday when my May order arrived. I decided to do a pattern using True Black & Simply Chartreause with the new On The Farm set animals.

For the checkered border & Howdy stamps I stamped first in the Chartreause than stamped again a tiny bit over and down in the black. I left it as basically a one layer card because even though it's simple in the layers, the patterns very busy and fills up the space with activity! I just loved all the little animals from this set and I hope I showed a little bit more of an unconventional way to use them to get as much use out of them as possible!
Can't wait to go see all the great inspiration from the other PTI crew! Enjoy!

Basic Grey & Hero Arts NSD Challenge!

Back again with the Basic Grey & Hero Arts NSD challenge to use Basic Grey along with their stamps from Hero Arts! LOVE!
I stamped very simple to just add to the background of my layout. The kraft & red stamping of the branches on the left and the red stamping of the poinsettias on the right.

This is using Basic Grey's Jovial line. The BG/Hero Arts stamps are from the Nordic Holiday line.

Basic Grey NSD Split Challenge!

The next layout I've completed from Basic Grey's NSD challenges is to split your design down the middle either vertically or horizontally. This was perfect for pictures of my daughter going from her yellow to green belt. This was a very quick page. I just used some of the border stickers in the collection pack to split it down the middle between the two pictures.

Everything is from the Indie Bloom collection pack except the letters for "yellow" and "green".

Basic Grey NSD Challenge!

Hello! I've finally had some time to finish up a few challenges from National Scrapbooking Day. First, I have a challenge from Basic Grey to use a mixed Font title.
For this page I mainly used the Wander line, but the "Fish" letters are from another collection.

Thanks for stopping!

Jillibean Soup NSD Sketch Challenge!

Hello again! Jillibean Soup posted a NSD Challenge on the blog to use one of three sketches. I choose to work with this one (for now):

Sketch4_circlehappy_042709
All three sketches are great, simple beginning sketches to really let your creativity flow!
I wanted to use a Jillibean kit I had bought awhile ago, but of course since I wanted to use it RIGHT NOW, I couldn't find where I put it! :) So I dug through my Jillibean papers and pulled out some of their kraft patterns (my fav!) from winter.

To go along with the winter theme, I printed out some 2x3 pictures using my little PoGo printer. They are pictures from my phone, so they are great for this small size. I first changed them to sepia tone because I thought it would be cute with the kraft patterns. These are pics from this years skating night with everyone from my daughter's school that her gym teacher hosts every year- so fun!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll have some more layouts posted throughout the week!

NSD Paper Smooches Cardstock Challenge!

Kim over at Paper Smooches issued a challenge for National Scrapbooking Day, cause it's for card makers, too! :) I will be finishing up some challenges for layouts over the week, so stop on back if you want some layout inspiration!
Kim's challenge was to use only solid cardstock- no patterned paper!
I made this card for my daughter's birthday- she loves animals and loves Kim's stamps!
I used the Zoo Crew stamp set for everything on this card. And ONLY solid cardstock, some markers and a little twine!
As soon as I first saw this set, I thought of making cute little banners out of that triangle party hat. Well, for this card I wanted to make something bigger and more prominent on the card, so I stamped it repeatedly to make that cute border!
The hippo was stamped on grey cardstock, the giraffe on yellow and the leaves on green.

Thanks for stopping!
